The U.S. Senate voted yesterday on the constitutionality of a second Trump Impeachment Trial. The vote served a similar function to a trial vote that was held recently to gauge the willingness of the senators, especially those associated with the G.O.P. to convict President Trump.
The resulting vote, 56-44, remains on track with one Republic representative changing his vote in response to the graphic evidence presented on day 1 of the trial.
At this rate, the Democrats do not seem to have the bipartisan support necessary to execute a 2/3rds majority vote for the Trump’s conviction on the presented article of impeachment, which is for Incitement of Insurrection.
Day two of the impeachment trial is set to hear further arguments from both sides — the Democrats promise new evidence.
